Every journey has a begining and for the 3rd Bexhill Rainbows this will be a trip to the guiding international summer camp. The unit was set up in the 1970s and is still going strong. 5-7 year old girls coming to the group have opportunities for fun and adventure by encouraging them to try new experiences and step outside of their comfort zone, as well as keeping them away from screens!

One of these new experiences will take place in July 2026 in the form of an International Camp. Although the girls are too young to stay overnight, they were offered the opportunity to visit for the day, so that they could experience at first hand what an International Camp looks and feels like, and meet other Guiding members from around the world. But how to get there?

On their own journey and achieving a ‘one organisation’ example of excellence the members of the Royal Sovereign Light Lodge and the Royal Sovereign Light Chapter together donated £250 each to pay for the coach to see the rainbows head off on their adventure later in the year.

Continuing their quest to reach out to the local community four senior members of the Bexhill masonic organisations met the youngsters at their normal Tuesday meeting. After introductions they were presented with the two cheques and told to enjoy a fantastic day.

In anticipation of the visit some of the girls had made ‘thank you’ cards so they presented them to the presenters which was a lovely surprise! We wish the girls a safe journey and a happy, exciting occasion later this summer.
