About the Royal Sovereign Light Lodge

The Royal Sovereign Light Lodge No. 6630 meets 6 times a year on the third Saturday of October, November, January, February, March and April. Occasionally if a meeting date coincides with Easter the date of the meeting may change. Our Saturday meetings tend to suit those with a busy working weekday schedule. Generally, our meetings start about 5.00pm and afterwards we go to enjoy a meal together at a local dining venue.  As we are a dining lodge the cost of these meals is included as part of the annual subscription.

Our membership is made up of an active group of men. It is impossible to stereotype the average freemason. Our members come from all walks of life and they span a wide social spectrum. However we are careful about who joins us and we expect our members to hold strong values particularly integrity, kindness, honesty, fairness and tolerance.

As Masons, we are both a social group and a civic-minded group. We enjoy each other’s company in lodge meetings and elsewhere. We also do things to benefit society in general as well as things that make our fraternity stronger. These may include BBQ’s, Christmas evenings, Ladies Evenings or Lunches, Coffee mornings and similar events.

We meet at the Bexhill Masonic Centre in Wilton Road, Bexhill on Sea.

The Lodge is supported by a Lodge of Instruction which not only provides an opportunity to get to know each other more but also helps newer members learn more about freemasonry.

Visitors regularly comment about the happy, friendly atmosphere in the lodge and many of these return time and time again.

Family and friends are supportive of us. We organise social and fundraising events and give to charities both local and national, masonic and non masonic.
