Yesterday saw a small group gather to see a long standing brother recieve his fifty year certificate and lapel pin-badge. It was arranged as an extremely informal affair with the certificate being presented by the Grand Officer of the Lodge at the request of the Provincial Grand Master of Sussex.
George had brought with him some of his own memorabilia including his initiation summons, his istallation summons and items relating to the Lodge’s 50th Anniversary which he helped organise.
This caused many memories and friends to be mentioned and remembered, so the convivial atmosphere was much enjoyed by all.
The wives present enjoyed the surprise of being presented with roses for their role in being ‘the incredible woman behind the good man’ as the saying goes.
The event was most enjoyable and it was agreed that we would all meet again soon for coffee in a local hotel to continue the friendship enjoyed.
