It literally had been sunny all morning and five minutes before fire up it started- thunder, lightening and RAIN!! It was a good job the hosts had a selection of gazebos and the like which they had thoughtfully erected beforehand and so the summer BBQ went ahead with the members and their families showing typical British spirit.
Lots of food, friendship and some new and potential members coming along to experience the happy atmosphere.
The chefs worked hard to make sure the wide variety of food on offer was cooked to perfection and the puds went down just as well………..especially the tiramisu!
After announcing the results of the raffle the Secretary also told the assembled group that the event had raised £1000 for The Masonic Charitable Foundation.
He thanked the hosts for their hospitality and presented the hostess with a large wrapped and decorated plant for their garden.
As members started to leave…..the sun started to break through and make the grey sky blue. C’est las vie -but we’d all had a good time!
