The host and hostess were well prepared for the members and friends who had booked for the Valentine’s lunch. Greeted by a glass of bubbly (or soft drink) they were all soon catching up with friends old and new.
The lunch was a superb spread of meats, fish, jacket potatoes and a whole range of salads which soon had everyone seated and enjoying the food whilst the very happy but lonesome chef grabbed a bite in the kitchen and the Dancing Disco Diva played an enjoyable selection of love songs from across the decades.
The two valentine themed quizzes available were perused as the main course was digested and before the sweet table was opened. WOW! What a choice with iced strawberries proving to be a big hit!
TheLodge are happy to report that the proceeds of the event will go to Chestnut Tree House, the children’s hospice for Sussex.
